For more than 20 years, I’ve photographed families.
But it wasn’t until my wife and I walked through our own fertility journey that I truly understood how meaningful these images can become.
After IVF and the long road it took to finally fall pregnant, every moment carried weight. Every milestone felt hard won.
When our son arrived, I realised something I hadn’t fully understood before.
These early moments of motherhood aren’t just beautiful.
For many families, they are deeply significant.
They represent hope. Resilience. And the quiet relief of finally holding the baby you waited so long to meet.

Why this work matters to me
After everything it took for us to become parents, I understand something deeply now.
Motherhood is never ordinary.
For some families it arrives easily.
For others, it takes courage, patience and more resilience than they ever imagined they had.
And that’s why I believe these moments deserve to be preserved with care.
Because one day, these photographs won’t just remind you what your baby looked like.

Over more than twenty years behind the camera, I’ve learned that meaningful photography has very little to do with perfect posing or expensive equipment. It’s about creating a space where people feel comfortable enough to simply be themselves.
