This Watsons Bay family photography session took place at Camp Cove, one of Sydney’s iconic Eastern Suburbs beaches, where two energetic boys spent most of the hour running along the sand and barely stopping for a second.

They ran.

They climbed the rocks.

They pointed out boats in the distance.

They played in the sand.

At one point their parents laughed and apologised for how “busy” they were.

But this is exactly what family sessions are meant to look like.

Your children don’t have to sit still.

They don’t have to pose.

They don’t have to perform.

They just have to be themselves.

The movement, the noise, the sandy feet, the arms wrapped tightly around parents mid-run — that’s where the connection lives.

For this family, their journey to this moment wasn’t straightforward. After IVF, these everyday moments carry a different kind of weight.

Family photography with Life & Light Photography gives your children space.

Space to move.

Space to explore.

Space to be exactly who they are.

When you remove the pressure to behave perfectly, something shifts.

You get images that feel real.

Joyful.

Full of energy.

Full of love.

If you’ve been putting off family photos because you’re worried your children won’t cooperate, this is your reminder — they don’t need to.

The best photographs are rarely still.

If you’d like relaxed family photography along Sydney’s coastline, I’d love to create something that feels natural for your family.
