This beautiful baby boy was born via reciprocal IVF, he was welcomed into the arms of two mums who had walked a long path to parenthood. One that shaped how this moment was experienced and why capturing it felt so important.
This newborn photoshoot took place in the family’s home in Western Sydney, where life was already settling into a new rhythm. This was never about a perfect setup or posed images. It was about documenting the family as they are, in this season.
For this family, their dogs aren't just pets. They were their first babies. They've been there though it all, the appointments, the injections, the heartache and the joy. It was only fitting that they be included because they belonged in the story too.
For families who have experienced IVF, there is often a deep attachment to the constants that carried them through the uncertainty. The dogs who lay at their feet during injections. Who sensed the shifts in energy. Who stayed close when words were not needed.
At Life & Light Photography, I believe newborn photography should reflect the truth of a family’s journey.
Many of the families I photograph have experienced IVF, pregnancy loss, or years of waiting. Their stories deserve to be held with care.
My approach to newborn photography in Sydney is calm, in-home, and deeply personal. I create space for every member of the family, including the ones who walked beside you long before your baby arrived.
Because this chapter didn't just begin at birth.
If you are expecting a baby and looking for a relaxed, natural, in-home newborn photoshoot in Sydney, I'd be honoured to tell your story too.
